The Rainbow Garden Society is a food access and social support non-profit organization that supports the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
We hold regular community garden sessions in a central location in Calgary accessible by transit.
Food grown is shared within our community and donated to citizens in need. We hold workshops and seminars throughout the year that address food security, food skills, and environmental and ecological learning needs.
Safety of our members is our number one priority. Once you become a member, we will share location and other pertinent information with you.
Please feel free to email us at info@rainbowgardensociety.org if you have any questions about our Society!
Our Vision
To close the food security gap for Calgary urban Queer community members through urban gardening, food literacy and ecology programming, and safe spaces.
Our Mission
To develop and provide sustainable food literacy and ecology programming that address food access and food dignity for the queer community and other equity-deserving groups in a safe, sober and inclusive environment while establishing meaningful connections within the City of Calgary.
“Spending time at the garden has taught my kids invaluable lessons about food, belonging, and ecology.”
